Brazilian independent studio BlackHawk Games and publisher QUByte Interactive roll out a major free visual and gameplay upgrade for Steam players, setting the stage for PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch releases.
QUByte Interactive, in partnership with Brazilian independent developer BlackHawk Games, today announced that the definitive remastered overhaul of Beyond The Evil is now officially live on PC via Steam.
Delivered as a 100% free update to all existing owners, this enhanced edition completely refines the game’s core mechanics, environmental presentation, and deductive puzzle systems.
This major overhaul serves as the definitive foundation for the game's upcoming debut on modern consoles, arriving globally on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on October 29, 2026.
When Brute Force Fails, Logic Becomes Your Only Weapon
Originally debuted on Steam, Beyond The Evil strips away traditional horror combat, firearms, and monster waves to deliver a slow-burn psychological thriller driven entirely by environmental investigation, code-breaking, and moral choices. Set in an isolated, foreboding estate in Pennsylvania, the narrative begins in 2019 when private investigator Gary Nephew receives a frantic, incoherent distress call at his apartment.
Upon arriving at the secluded property, Gary finds the caller dead and the premises sealed with cryptic ciphers, hidden keys, and traces of a clandestine scientific experiment tied to the vanishing of the Juniper brothers. Guided remotely by his partner Lukas Smith, Gary must inspect hundreds of realistic physical items, unlock secured chambers, and trace the genesis of an uncontrollable contagion before it escapes containment.
